LPU acquired Globe Telecom Leased Line for its Internet

Thursday, March 11th, 2010 | EDUCATION, Internet, Telecommunication with No Comments »

The  Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Batangas, in its pursuit of academic excellence and providing quality services to its students, recently upgraded its internet line.

LPU‘s previous internet connectivity is a Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT) DSL with a bandwidth of 3.5 Mbps.  But since DSL is not a guaranteed connection, LPU suffered from intermittent internet connection due to the increase in internet users within the university.  Internet user connectivity includes wireless fidelity (wifi), and wired connections.  This prompted the management to look for a more reliable internet connectivity.  Fortunately,  Globe Telecom recommended a 2 Mbps leased line to solve the problem.

After several weeks of testing and monitoring, we can say that LPU‘s internet connectivity has given our students an enjoyable and reliable browsing experience.

What is a Leased Line

A dedicated, point-to-point, clear channel connection between two offices. A preferred mode for full time, guaranteed, dedicated and private connectivity for data, voice, and video applications.

The following table, shows the technical specifications of a leased line compared with other Globe products.
