The University of the Philippines (UP) Pep Squad won the 2011 UAAP Cheerdance Competition at the Araneta Coliseum today, September 17, 2011.

UP‘s Madonna-inspired Pep Squad showed a better and almost flawless routine to retain the 2011 UAAP Samsung Cheerdance competition. The UP Pep Squad surprised everyone with all of its members having blonde hair.

The Araneta Coliseum was filled to the rafters with over 20,000 were in attendance on Saturday.

The UP Pep Squad took home their second straight cheerdance title and P340,000 top prize. De La Salle University (DLSU) Animo Squad entered the top three spot for the first time by placing as first runner up and received P200,000 prize. Far Eastern University (FEU) Cheering Squad placed third with P140,000 prize.

The University of Sto. Tomas (UST) Salinggawi Dance Troupe is in fourth place, Adamson University (AdU) Pep Squad in fifth and the National University (NU) Pep Squad in sixth place.

Nursing Board Exam July 2011 Results and NLE July 2011 Topnotchers

The result of the July 2011 Nurse Licensure Examination (NLE) has been released today by the PRC. There are three universities who got a perfect passing percentage and that include Cebu Normal University (Cebu State College), West Visayas University-La Paz and University of the Philippines (UP)-Manila.

DepEd: Classes are suspended tomorrow, October 26, 2010

There will be no classes tomorrow, October 26, 2010, in all public elementary and high schools nationwide.

The Department of Education (DepEd) decided to suspend all classes tomorrow, October 26, 2010, to let the public school teachers have enough rest after serving as members of the Board of Election Inspectors (BEI) in the 2010 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections held today. DepEd Secretary Armin Luistro made the announcement of suspension of classes today, October 25, 2010.

Some schools will not hold classes again on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 because elections were postponed for Tuesday, due to the delay in the delivery of election paraphernalias in the polling centers.

DepEd has left the discretion to private school officials, if they will suspend classes tomorrow, especially those private schools whose classrooms were used as polling precints.

The long wait and excitement is over. The Lyceum of the Philippines University’s new Mr. Lyceum 2010 is Jonathan Aguado of BS Marine Transportation, while, Mona Hammad of Liberal Arts is the newly crowned Miss Lyceum 2010.
