I Upgraded to WordPress 2.9

After reading the new features of WordPress 2.9, which it named ‘Carmen’ release to honor Carmen McRae, a magical jazz vocalist, I was very excited to jump off to the new version.  I immediately created a backup of my entire website so that if any problems occur during the upgrade process, I will have something to restore back.  And obviously, backup is the first thing you should do when migrating and upgrading.  So after securing my backup, off I go with the upgrade.  How did I do that?

The Internet and Web Technologies have significantly changed our perception, understanding and dealings with information. In the early days, information was considered to be document- centric model. Information is embedded in a document that requires a lot of software to produce. Documents are believed to be composed of static information. But those were the days. Now, information concept has shifted to a dynamic model, meaning structured and unstructured information are being presented in a web browser. Information system serves as the window to view data from a vast and still growing number of sources such as: database management systems, client-server networks, internet websites, intranet sites, and syndicated services or information feeds.

Who provides the best mobile phone experience in the Philippines?  Which provider gives clearer and less drop calls?  Who provides consistent and real time sending and receiving text messages?  The three major mobile telecom service providers in the Philippines are:

  • SMART Telecommunications is number one in terms of the number of subscriber base with more than 30 million.
  • Globe Telecoms comes in second, with around 20 million subscribers, and
  • SUN Cellular comes to around 12 million subscribers.
