Lolong, the giant crocodile captured alive in Bunawan, Agusan del Sur may soon replace Australian crocodile called Cassius Clay as Guinness World Records‘ Biggest Crocodile in Captivity.
Cassius Clay, giant crocodile named after boxing legend Muhammad Ali, was declared on Thursday, September 16 by the Guinness World Records as the world’s biggest crocodile captured alive. The Australian crocodile, captured in Northern Territory in 1984, measures about 5.5 meters long and weighs almost a ton.
Lolong, named after a veteran crocodile handler who died days before the giant crocodile was captured, measures about 6.4-meters long.
However, Philippine officials need to work fast in providing Lolong a better habitat to have it recognized by the Guinness World Records.
According to Guinness World Records spokesperson Chris Sheedy, they will not recognized Lolong “until it’s in acceptable captivity, which is humane and professional, and until it has been properly measured.”

Missoni collection limited sale on Target last Tuesday, September 13, 2011 was a blockbuster. A lot of customers lined up in Target stores to grab Missoni items that include bikes, luggage, clothes and housewares.
Reports by several news sites said that Missoni sale on Target has reached Black Friday Sales level.
Missoni, known for its zig-zag patterns, chose Target as its exclusive retailer for its limited sale that offered items that costs about $2.99 for stationary, $599.99 on furnitures. The sale offering was way beyond their regular price that usually ranges from $595 to $1,500.
Oprah Winfrey‘s reported comments on the recently concluded Miss Universe 2011 will surely put a black eye on this year’s result if this is really true.
Miss Universe 2011 crown was given to Miss Angola Leila Lopes.
However, the high profile celebrity, Winfrey, reportedly expressed her disappointment with the final results of the Miss Universe 2011. Twitter and Facebook posts say that she specifically pointed out how the contestants answered in the question and answer portion. Oprah expressed her favor on Miss Philippines Shamcey Supsup over the rest of the Top 5 contestants.
Below is Oprah Winfrey’s reported comments on the Miss Universe 2011 as stated on Twitter and Facebook posts.
I have a reservation with the result. If the only basis is the Q & A portion, after having been trimmed down to 5, Miss Philippines deserve to win. What made her different from the rest is that she had no seconds to re-think of her answer as she had no interpreter to break the ice. The rest had their interpreters and having breaks on seconds to think about their answers. Hands down, Miss Philippines answered straight to the point.
Note: The above quote was taken from several social networking sites and as of posting, neither Oprah nor NBC has confirmed the accuracy of the statement.
