UAAP Season 74 Men’s Basketball tournament will start on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at the Araneta Coliseum with the De La Salle Green Archers taking on Far Eastern University Tamaraws at 1 pm.
Three-time UAAP Men’s Basketball champion, Ateneo Blue Eagles will start their quest for a fourth title against the Adamson Falcons at 3 pm.

An Olympic-style ceremony kicked off the UAAP Season 74 on a rainy Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Marikina Sports Complex.
This year’s host, Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), performed their best despite of the rains and mud.
Rock band Sponge Cola fired up the sports complex by singing “Puso” while Ateneo students perform in the open field.

Mocha Uson has openly declared her support for the reproductive health (RH) bill during an interview in ANC‘s The Rundown.
The controversial sexy singer explained that she is a pro-RH bill advocate because she believes that it will uphold women’s health and will provide sex education. Mocha reiterates that she is an advocate of sex education during her interview with ABS-CBN‘s Tony Velasquez, host of The Rundown.
During the ANC interview, Mocha even encouraged boxer, Manny Pacquiao, to switch sides and join her in promoting the RH Bill. Pacquiao has openly aired his stance against the RH Bill.
Mocha earlier joined a pro-RH Bill rally last Tuesday, May 24, 2011 around the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City.
According to the latest PAGASA weather forecast issued at 5 am today, May 26, 2011, the eye of Bagyong Chedeng or Typhoon Chedeng is spotted at 270 km east Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes.
Tropical storm Chedeng (international codename: Songda) is moving northwest at 15 kph with maximum sustained winds of 160 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 195 kph, based on PAGASA satellite and surface data.
The Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) said that Typhoon Chedeng has intensified over the past 12 hours in the highly favorable environment of the Philippine Sea. The Hawaii-based JTWC is a joint U.S. Navy-Air Force task force that is responsible for issuing tropical cyclone warnings for all branches of the US Department of Defense and other US government agencies.
PAGASA forecast Typhoon Chedeng to make a landfall in the area of Aurora and Isabela by Friday afternoon. However, JTWC contradicts PAGASA‘s forecast by saying that Tropical storm Chedeng will miss Luzon and remain in the sea area.

Typhoon Chedeng update issued by PAGASA at 11 pm May 25, said that the tropical storm has intensified and will pass through the Bicol region and eastern Visayas, according to a report on its official website on Wednesday, May 26.
PAGASA weather forecast issued at 5 p.m., said that Typhoon Chedeng was located at 310 east of Catarman, Northern Samar with maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 185 kph.
It is expected to make landfall in the vicinity of Aurora and Isabela at around 2 p.m. Friday while moving northwest at 15 kph.
PAGASA forecast Typhoon Chedeng to be 230 km north of Catarman, or 140 km northeast of Virac, Catanduanes by Thursday afternoon.
Based on PAGASA Severe Weather Bulletin No. 11, Public Storm Warning Signal number were raised in the following areas:
- Camarines Norte,
- Camarines Sur,
- Eastern Samar, and
- Northern Samar.
Public Storm Warning Signal Number 1 are up in the following areas:
- Ticao and Burias islands,
- Quezon (including Polilio Island),
- Biliran island, and
- Northern Leyte.
