August 29, 2011, August 30, 2011 Regular Holiday in the Philippines | National Heroes Day | Eid’l Fitr | Feast of Ramadhan

August 29, 2011, National Heroes Day, and August 30, 2011, Feast of Ramadan, has been declared as regular holidays by the Philippine government, according to its Official Gazette website.

Malacanang issued Proclamation No. 234 stating that August 30, which is a Tuesday, will be a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid’l Fitr (Feast of Ramadhan). August 29 was already included in earlier declared list of holidays issued through Proclamation No. 84.

PROCLAMATION NO. 234

DECLARING TUESDAY, 30 AUGUST 2011, AS A REGULAR HOLIDAY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY IN OBSERVANCE OF EID’L FITR (FEAST OF RAMADHAN)

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 9177 declared Eid’l Fitr (Feast of Ramadhan) as a regular holiday throughout the country;

WHEREAS, Eid’l Fitr is celebrated by the Muslim World for three (3) days after the end of the month of fasting;

WHEREAS, to promote cultural understanding and integration, the entire Filipino nation should have the full opportunity to join their Muslim brothers and sisters in the observance and celebration of Eid’l Fitr;

WHEREAS, in order to bring the religious and cultural significance of the Eid’l Fitr to the fore of national consciousness, it is necessary to declare Tuesday, 30 August 2011, as a regular holiday throughout the country.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Tuesday, 30 August 2011, as a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid’l Fitr (Feast of Ramadhan). The Eid’l Fitr prayer shall depend on the result of the Niyata or moon-sighting activity on the 29th day of Ramadhan 1432H, corresponding to 29 August 2011.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 11th day of August, in the year of Our Lord, Two Thousand and Eleven.

AJ Perez Laid To Rest At The Manila Memorial Park

AJ Perez, 18-year-old Kapamilya teenage actor, was laid to rest on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque City, according to a report by ABS-CBN News.

A Mass offered for AJ Perez was done in Christ The King Parish in Quezon City at around 9 am.

AJ‘s favorite things were reportedly placed inside his casket. Among AJ‘s belongings included a blanket, pair of rubber shoes and a watch that he gave his younger brother.

Among those who came and pay their last respects to AJ include his family, relatives, and showbiz and non-showbiz friends.

AJ Perez was a cast in the television show,”Sabel.” He was a victim of a highway accident along McArthur Highway in Barangay San Julian in Tarlac on April 17.

Ancient Emperors declared Mount Athos as a spiritual capital of Orthodox Christianity.

Prayers were being offered continuously over Mount Athos for over a thousand years already.

Monks all over the world has come to Mount Athos to pray and shield it from the ‘world’.

Mount Athos do not allow other people to come close to it.
