San Alfonso del Mar resort in Algarrobo, Chile owns the Crystal Lagoons Corp.‘s world’s largest outdoor pool.

Image Credit: Crystal Lagoon’s Corp. The $1.2 billion Crystal Lagoon measures over half of a mile long or about 3,323 feet and was constructed for five years. It has an annual maintenance cost of over $3 million.

Crystal Lagoon is also the world’s deepest pool at 115 feet. It is being filled with 66 million gallons of sea water directly taken from the sea using filtration method.

The San Alfonso del Mar resort pool is even larger than 20 Olympic-sized pools measuring 164-by-82-feet. It is six times bigger than the Orthlieb Pool in Casablanca, Morocco.
