Nonito Donaire Jr. versus Omar Narvaez, faced-off during fight’s final press event. “The Filipino Flash” Donaire and “El Huracan” Narvaez held their final press conference on Friday, October 21, 2011 for their title bout at the Madison Square Garden in New York City on October 22 (Oct. 23 in Manila).
The two boxers both acknowledged each others talents during the press conference.
According to Donaire, Narvaez has “a good record of being a champion, he’s not just a nobody, he is a legend in Argentina. That’s why I can’t take him lightly.”
“The Hurricane” Narvaez returned the favor on Donaire by saying that he is “very happy to be here to fight with a great champion like Nonito Donaire.”
The undefeated Narvez has a career fight record of 35 wins (19 knockouts) and 2 draws.
Meanwhile, Donaire is defending his World Boxing Council (WBC) and World Boxing Organization (WBO) bantamweight crowns against Narvaez.
