Bagyong Chedeng or Typhoon Chedeng has a big chance of passing through Metro Manila, according to a statement by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Wednesday morning, May 25, 2011.
DOST Undersecretary Graciano Yumul said in a DZMM radio interview, that if Typhoon Chedeng hits Bicol, then there is a great possibility that it will also hit Metro Manila.
PAGASA weather forecast revealed that Tropical storm Chedeng is continuously moving in the westward direction.
Public storm warning signal number two is already hoisted in Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Albay, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte and the Samar Provinces.
Signal No. 1 was raised in Marinduque, Masbate, Burias Island, Ticao Island, Southern Quezon, Polillo Island and Biliran Island.
PAGASA weather bulletin issued at 5 am today said that as of 4:00 am, Chedeng is located at 365 kilometers east of Catarman, Northern Samar with maximum sustained winds of 115 kilometers per hour.
