The latest explosion inside a north-bound EDSA-Buendia bus along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA)in Makati City has claimed the lives of four people and 14 others suffered injuries today, January 25, 2011, according to local news sites. The bus explosion happened in the corner of EDSA and Buendia around 2 p.m..
Those who did not survive the incident include 3 males and a female passenger of Newman Goldliner bus with plate number TXJ 710. Passengers who suffered injuries include 9 females and 5 males. The victims were brought to the Ospital ng Makati and St. Luke’s Medical Center in Bonifacio Global City.
Some of the injured victims of the bus explosion were identified as Lino Antonio, Victoriano Jeffrey, Anabelle Gozon and Mary Grace Borondia. The identities of those who did not survive the explosion were withheld by the police authorities because the relatives were not yet informed.
A special investigation task force was formed by National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief, Director Nicanor Bartolome, to look into the bus explosion. He added that the city government has also formed a crisis management committee.
