Everything in 2011 will probably have a touch of Honeysuckle as Pantone Inc. announced through a press release that Pantone ® 18-2120 Honeysuckle will be the official color of the year for 2011.

Here is the statement of Pantone Color Institute® Executive Director, Leatrice Eiseman, regarding the choice of Honeysuckle as the color of 2011:

In times of stress, we need something to lift our spirits. Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating color that gets the adrenaline going – perfect to ward off the blues.  Honeysuckle derives its positive qualities from a powerful bond to its mother color red, the most physical, viscerally alive hue in the spectrum.

Honeysuckle, as described by Eiseman, is a “festive reddish pink” that provides vibrancy and enthusiasm.  The name of the color was derived from honeysuckle plant with reddish pink hue flower.
