The new design of Philippine Peso Bills will be in circulation in the country according to Bangko Sentral of the Philippines (BSP). The new Philippine bills will include the new P500 bill showing the late former President Corazon ‘Cory’ Aquino and his husband Ninoy as reported by local news sites on Thursday, December 16, 2010.
The image of former President Cory Aquino was placed on the right side of her husband, the late Senator Benigno ‘Ninoy’ Aquino. Former Senator Ninoy was assassinated on August 21, 1983, that led to the peacefull uprising of the Filipino people in what is now known as the EDSA People Power of 1986.
The new design of the P500 bill with Cory and Ninoy together is only a part of the BSP’s project to redesign all Philippine peso bills.
