Singers who rendered the Philippine National Anthem, “Lupang Hinirang“, in previous Pacquiao bouts were criticized by the National Historical Institute (NHI). The NHI has reprimanded a lot of artists who rendered the wrong version of the Philippine National Anthem. Among those included in the list of artist, who were criticized by the NHI are well known singers such as: Sarah Geronimo, Lani Misalucha, Kyla, Charice Pempengco, Jennifer Bautista, Arnel Pineda and Christian Bautista.

Of all the person who were invited to sing the Lupang Hinirang in Manny Pacquiao’s great fights only one and only Zyrene Parsad perfectly did it, giving justice to all the heroes of Philippine history from whom we borrowed our dignity as people of a free land. Why did i say that She did it perfectly? First of all, Her voice is tuned in with the hymn, i’m sure it’s not really the exact voice of Zyrene but because she really knew the situation, just as she knows herself as a singer, that she will be hymning a patriotic’s National anthem, she used her God-given talent to modify her voice a little, just a little to be able to come out with voice that would create a breeze which made the philippine flag wave and a perfect hymn for all the filipinos and filipino-americans inside the cowboy stadium at Texas and all filipinos over the world. Secondly, She was Manny’s choice, that is why She worked hard, she made research, she even sought the advice of proper authority, that is the National Historical Institute, for the proper rendition. To sum it up Zyrene Parsad is the best ever singer who could hymn the “Lupang Hinirang” to properly represent our country by singing National anthem in great international events in the future. Congratulations Miss Zyrene Parsad.
