The Supreme Court (SC) have decided to look for a new venue for the Bar Examinations. Starting next year, the Bar Exams will not be conducted at the De La Salle University (DLSU) campus on Taft Ave., Manila.  The announcement was made by Chief Justice Renato Corona. The decision by the SC did not come as a surprise after the bomb blast during the “Salubong”  last September 26.

The SC is looking at the possibility of transferring the venue of the Bar Exams in any of the following:

  • University of Santo Tomas (UST),
  • Adamson University (AdU), and
  • Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).

The management of DLSU has begged off from hosting the Bar examinations even before the bombing incident. An MK2 grenade, was reportedly thrown by a fraternity member to a group of well-wishers in the last day of the Bar Exams. More than 45 individuals, including law undergraduate students and Bar examinees were injured in the blast .

The SC en banc, chaired by Associate Justice Roberto Abad, is still deliberating the new venue for the Bar examinations starting next year.
