The Abbott milk company has voluntarily recall  Similac baby milk formula products that are possibly contaminated.

The manufacturing plant in Sturgis, Michigan was found to have beetles in the area, according to Abbott Laboratories, that resulted to the contamination of the Similac milk products.

The larvae of insects could cause stomach pain and digestive problems for children who will drink the contaminated products. However, Abbott pointed out that the FDA had not found any serious health risks.

Recall of  Similac products were report in the USA, Puerto Rico, Guam, and other Caribbean countries.

Abbott, meanwhile, stressed that the Similac recall does not include the liquid formula products.
