Former pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. was jailed in Las Vegas due to a complaint by his ex-girlfriend. Josie Harries filed the complaint and the Las Vegas police arrested Mayweather Jr. on suspicion of grand larceny due to an alleged mobile phone theft and domestic battery for beating her ex-girlfriend.
Mayweather Jr. came under fire recently after saying expletive and racist comments about current pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao. The 33 year old Mayweather Jr. is currently undefeated in his 41 fights. Las Vegas police detained Mayweather Jr. in the Clark County Detention Center, and required by the court to post a $3,000 bail.
Celebrity news website TMZ.com, who owns the exclusive mug shot of Mayweather Jr., reported that Harris accused Mayweather of assaulting her in front of their children, and this prompted her to seek protective request order.
Mayweather Jr. won unanimously in his last welterweight fight against fellow American Shane Mosley to raise his record to 41-0, with 25 of those fights by way of knockout.
Sports Illustrated magazine listed Mayweather Jr. as one of the highest-paid US athletes as he ranks third with total earnings of $60.3 million, behind golfers Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. – ABS-CBNnews.com
