June 30, 2010, inauguration day of President-elect Noynoy Aquino III, was declared by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo as special non-working holiday. The inauguration of Aquino, the 15th Philippine president, will be at the Quirino Grandstand in Rizal Park (formerly Luneta) in Manila.
Part of the inauguration program is that, Aquino will fetch Arroyo from Malacañang. Upon arrival at the Quirino Grandstand, Arroyo will be given arrival honors. Then, the 2 presidents will shake hands and then Arroyo will make her exit.
The Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile and House Speaker Prospero Nograles will read the proclamation. After the proclamation, Vice President-elect Jejomar “Jojo” Binay will take his oath, and then Aquino will follow him.
To welcome the new commander-in-chief, a 21-gun salute will be done by military guards. The new president will then deliver his inaugural address.
The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra play the tune of “Bayan Ko” while the Madrigal Singers will be the one to sing.
After the program at the Quirino Grandstand, a Cabinet meeting and reception will be done at the Malacañang Palace.
