This is my first blog post since arriving in Hongkong. Last night, I was not able to update everyone regarding my first day in Hongkong because. I am really so tired with all the running and walking that the LPU group went through starting from our arrival at the Hongkong Airport, to the City University of Hongkong, then to Macao and back to Hongkong. We were able to reached our hotel around 1:00 am of March 16. It was a very tiring but enjoyable first day.
We stayed at the Dorsett Far East Hotel along Castle Peak Road in Kowloon. I am with Engineer Ed Benavidez, LPU Maintenance And Development Office Director. It was quite a good hotel, maybe a 3 star hotel?
I was able to post this article by accessing the internet of the hotel. The internet usage at Dorsett Hotel is 30 HK$ per hour. The hotel provided me with a UTP cable to access the internet inside the hotel room.
The idea here is to test the internet speed they have in the hotel and probably the estimated internet speed in Hongkong, some sort of benchmarking eh!? So, what is the internet speed in Hongkong (inside hotel)? .96 mbps-download speed, .47 mbps-upload speed. Quite good and stable internet connection.
That’s all for the meantime everyone. Been dead tired again the whole 2nd Day, with the City Tour and Disneyland visit. We will be checking out early tomorrow to proceed to Shenzen, China. I will give you a detailed update on the different places and other personal experiences in Hongkong and Macao in the coming days.
Please check this site again for more updates on the 2010 LPU Benchmarking Trip in Hongkong.
