Lyceans top Nursing, PT board exams

507 NEW LPU NURSESLyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) in Batangas City once again proved that a provincial school is already taking the lead, besting even the biggest universities in the country.

In the November 2009 Nursing Licensure Examination, LPU’s Bryan Noel C. Asis (Cum Laude) emerged as topnotcher – second placer – among the 37,527 passers (out of 94,462 takers). Asis obtained a rating of 87.60%, too close with the first placer’s 87.80%. Meanwhile, another Lycean in the person of Robert C. Rena (Cum Laude) garnered the eight highest place, with a rating of 85.80%. LPU produced 507 new nurses in the said board exam, with a promising passing percentage far above the national passing rate.

In the January 2010 Physical Therapy Board Exam, on the other hand, LPU’s Mary Grace G. Lantin also proved that Lyceans take the lead in PT education as she bagged the sixth place as topnotcher.

Indeed, Lyceum of the Philippines University is a certified home of board topnotchers.
