Tiger Woods got involved in a minor car accident outside his Florida home on November 27. The accident started speculations of a quarrel between Woods and his wife over his affairs that was quickly turned into a full-fledged sex scandal. Woods was issued a ticket for careless driving by the Florida police. He suffered cuts in the face and bruises in the car crash, after hitting a water hydrant and a tree. The golf’s number one player paid $164 as traffic fine and spared from criminal charges.
The car accident issue subsided, but the sex scandal persisted. The world watched intently as Tiger Woods‘ clean-living image crumbled in a span of two weeks as 13 women — from cocktail waitresses to porn stars — admitted that they had flings with the golf superstar.
Because of the sex scandal, Tiger Woods is sidelined again. After having problems with his knee in mid-2008, Woods is again trying to cope up with another one that may be costlier and more painful this time. Tiger Woods is the latest sports star dragged in a sex scandal, after basketball superstar Kobe Bryant got involved in a rape case sometime in 2003 and boxing hero Manny Pacquiao who was linked to sex siren Krista Ranillo last November 2009. Due to the sex scandal, Tiger Woods decided to take an indefinite leave from golf. Tiger Woods admitted on his website his “infidelity” after earlier admitting “transgressions. ” The golf superstar asked for forgiveness and said he would leave golf for an indefinite period ” to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person.” Tiger Woods, 33, is a father of two and married to Swedish Elin Nordegren. The sex scandal involving the worlds number one golfer will definitely take down his marketing strength for now. Well, admission is really the first step to gain forgiveness and probably regain trust and respectability. Tiger Woods will surely be missed by the world of golf.
